Lambda256 Completes Joint Stablecoin Payment and Settlement PoC with South Korea's Credit Card Industry

Lambda256, a blockchain subsidiary of Dunamu, announced that it has completed a joint proof of concept (PoC) on stablecoin payment and settlement with the Credit Finance Association (CREFIA), South Korea's credit card industry association, together with its nine member card companies: BC Card, Hana Card, Hyundai Card, KB Kookmin Card, Lotte Card, NH Nonghyup Card, Samsung Card, Shinhan Card, and Woori Card. The PoC was designed to verify, from a technical standpoint, whether card companies' existing customer, merchant, transaction approval, settlement, and fraud detection system (FDS) infrastructure could be connected to a stablecoin payment environment.
The PoC covered the full scope of payment and settlement processes in the card industry, from stablecoin issuance and distribution to payment approval, cancellation and refunds, settlement, the use of policy subsidies and card points, and on-chain anti-money laundering (AML) and fraud detection (FDS).
In this PoC, Lambda256 advanced its digital asset orchestration platform SCOPE and its on-chain compliance platform CLAIR to meet the card industry's operational requirements. The two platforms formed the on-chain execution layer, handling transaction creation and transmission, gas fee processing, transaction status tracking, cancellations, refunds, settlement execution, and technical incident response.
Lambda256 also made the platforms more flexible to integrate with different card companies' systems, building a technical foundation that can adapt across environments. The PoC confirmed that Lambda256 can deliver this either as a standardized platform or as a dedicated system tailored to each card company's own operations and policies.
Card companies retained business and operational leadership, and final responsibility, for the payment method, user interface, payment approval, settlement policy, and merchant management. Lambda256 led and structured the on-chain technical execution. This division of labor confirmed that card companies can take responsibility for payment approval and settlement without operating the underlying blockchain technology themselves, while keeping their existing business rules and user experience intact.

Lambda256 previously became the first company in Korea's blockchain industry to obtain SOC 2 Type II certification, validating the blockchain infrastructure operating capabilities required in financial and enterprise environments.
